Jump into Summer with a Splash

by Lisa Anzell of The Daily Martini

Summer has unofficially started, and the reality of having to actually put on a swimsuit is staring you blankly in the face. It’s a daunting  thought, since we all have things we don’t like about our bodies.  Never fear though, we’ve got some ideas to help you find the most figure flattering swimsuits.

Full Busted Figures– There are many options now available in bra cup sizes.  But, if you can’t find one that you like, stick to bandeau, one shoulder, or higher cut suits.  They will offer you the most coverage and support.

Full Hips & Thighs – Your initial inclination would be to cover up your hips or thighs, but that will actually draw more attention to that part of your body.  What you want to do is draw the attention away by choosing a suit with some bust interest.  Something with a plunging neckline or color blocking will do the trick.

Tummy Slimming – All over prints, shirring or gathering across the stomach, or draping are all great strategies for camouflaging your tummy.

Straight Figure – Some people might think having a straight figure is a blessing, but it actually can make you look boxy.  Women without curves need to create the illusion of them.  Look for suits with cut-outs or graphic lines that visually crave out a waist.
