The end of the year is always a time for reflection, so here’s a wrap up of the trends we loved and wore this year, and a couple predictions.
Leather made a huge comeback in 2013. The resurgence of punk, grunge and 90’s nostalgia helped solidify this trend this year. Good news is leather will continue to be a trend in 2014, but on a more subdued level. So, you can still wear all the great leather pieces you invested in this year.
2. Black and White Graphic Pattern
Black was another big trend in 2013, but the mixture of white and black in bold patterns added drama. It’s another trend that we’ll see in 2014.
3. Jewel Tones
As emerald was the color of the year in 2013, it was accompanied by a slew of complementary jewel toned colors. They set an elegant and sophisticated attitude for the year. Radiant Orchid was named color of the year for 2014, so we’ll be looking forward to a more icy palette.
Jackets were a ubiquitous outerwear option this year. They emphasized a more defined waist, and structured pulled together look.
5. A-line Silhouette
The a-line silhouette is forgiving and flattering to many body types. It also emphasized the defined waist that was a trend this year.
Which trends were your favorite, and which ones are you looking forward to in 2014?
